Create a bookmark or small textile in your frame loom with an amazing weaving technique called Krokbragd.
Krokbragd is a Scandinavian weaving technique that gives as result thick and compact textiles with plenty of colour usage. Scandinavian women used to wove rugs, blankets and tapestries with this technique, among other homely textiles for the daily life.
It's a very interesting technique because with the same sequence that always repeats itself, and by just changing colours you can create an unlimited amount of designs. It's magical and really impressive!
Main contents you'll finde in this 39 pages downloadable handbook:
- Data sheet & FAQ (with yarn recommendations)
- Guidelines for grid/pattern reading
- Understanding the sequence + a free video of the sequence put into action
- Yarn interlocking (selvedges)
- Pattern divided in 10 parts to help you move forward little by little
- Extra: five colour scheme inspirations. Ideal for those who need a little push (deciding which colours to use can be hard sometimes!).
What materials will you need?
- A frame loom
- Four different colours of a yarn 4/7
- Cotton yarn for the warp
- Yarn needle (ideally four, one for each color)
- Comb (a fork is always welcome as well)
- Scissors
It's oriented to weavers who already have a basic knowledge about frame loom (how to warp it, how to tabby weave, extract textile from it, basic terms such as warp, weft, comb down, etc.).
